Back to back solar storms from earlier this week triggered astonishing aurora displays. The massive explosions of Sun material from Monday (8th) and Wednesday (12th) cause beautiful auroras all over the Northern hemisphere for some observers. Wednesdays blast was on the most extreme scale of possible solar storms.
